Educate |
“The only enemy of tourism is ignorance” - Phil JacobsTDAG provides educational forums for the tourism industry, the business community, government officials and the university system. In 2004, over four cents of every dollar collected by the state was generated by Georgia’s Tourism Industry. In real terms, Georgia’s tourism industry creates over $1.2 billion in state and local tax revenues to help fund the state and local governments. An investment in tourism provides revenues to educate our children and offset the cost of government services. Tourism is an important component of the social infrastructure of our communities. |
Unite |
Creating awareness among the social, public and private sectors of Georgia’s economy is central to the mission of TDAG. In collaboration with the Georgia Department of Economic Development, this program is the primary method of outreach the Alliance will utilize to increase awareness, develop additional tourism advocates and reinforce tourism as Georgia’s second largest industry across the state. TDAG strives to unite all components of our state’s tourism network in order to maintain a healthy and prosperous industry. We hold and post events and activities that bring individuals and companies dependent on the tourism industry together. |
